9am Traditional Service

The 9am Sunday service is a family service that enjoys a mix of age groups, and includes worship with hymns, accompanied by the oldest pipe organ in Newcastle. This service respects and holds closely to the traditions of the Anglican Church, using the Second Order of the Anglican Holy Communion. Morning tea in our beautiful grounds is provided after the service and offers a chance for people to build on the friendships and relationships that are a strong part of the 9am service.

Sunday School | 9:00am Sunday

Our 9am Sunday school is offered for school-ready children from the start of the service and runs through the school term. Age-appropriate classes are held upstairs in the Sunday school room in the church hall. The children return to the church in time for Holy Communion with their families.

Toddler Zone

Resources and toys for pre-school-aged children are always available at the back of the church in our purpose-built toddlers’ area, and children and babies are always welcome at St John’s! At St John’s we love for people of all ages to be involved in and be part of the service, so we encourage families with babies and young children to stay in the Church during the service and make use of our toddlers’ area.
