We held the Annual Meeting for our parish last Sunday. Many thanks to everyone who came, and those who were willing to stand for election. At the meeting, we elected two churchwardens, a missions secretary, and five members of parish council. Those elected were:
– churchwardens: Howard Benson and Andrew Roth
– a missions secretary: Angus Draffan
– five members of parish council: Penelope Young, Liz Anelli, Fr Ken Youman, David Hails, and David Holt.
I will let you know my nominations for rector’s warden, and four additional members of parish council, as soon as possible.

Holy Week and Easter Services: Monday 25–Thursday 29 March 2018
Holy Week is the name for the week between Palm Sunday and Good Friday. Each evening in Holy Week, we will celebrate a Communion service at 6.30pm. This will conclude with a service at 6.30pm on Maundy Thursday. This commemorates the final night before Jesus’ suffering when he shared a special meal with his friends and taught the supreme importance of love in the way that we live.
St John’s Fair
The Annual Parish Fair will be held on Saturday 5 May 2018 from 9am-1pm!
Your assistance with the Fair would be very much appreciated. The Women’s Guild need help with the provision of goods for the various stalls and also help on the day.
Stalls include: Morning Tea, Raffle, Soup, Pickles and Jam, Handcraft, Books, BBQ, Trash and Treasure, pre loved toys, Sweets, Cakes, Fruit and Veg.
If you can help on any of these stalls please contact Jenny Walkom on 0419497392 or speak to any of the Guild members.
Lemons are needed to make lemon butter, also small to medium glass jars with lids to put the jams or pickles in. These can be left in the Hall kitchen on the back shelf.
Trash & Treasure can be either left upstairs in the Hall or stacked neatly in the storage room on the Dawson St side of the Hall in the week leading up to the Fair. As our last hall booking that week is on Thursday 3 May, we ask that no goods are left in the Hall before then.
Easter Leaflets
This Sunday, leaflets for the Inter-Church Council Easter service will be ready for delivery to homes in the local suburbs. Please take a bundle of leaflets for delivery this week.
Church cleaning roster – thank you!
Many thanks to the new team who are supporting ministry here by cleaning the church weekly. Thanks to Liz, Chris, Penny, Joanne, Mark, Dan, Jason, Bob, Jenny, Margret… and to Fr Ken, who has both organised the roster, and is a member of it!
Wednesday Bible Study
The study will not meet on Wednesday 28th being Holy Week. We will resume on Wednesday 2nd May after the school holidays. Then we will be continuing our study on Philip Yancey’s book ‘What’s so amazing about Grace?’ All welcome, 7.00pm in the Church.
