Are you interested in supporting our local community in a practical way? CityServe is a Newcastle-wide church initiative. It is our church’s chance to be involved with our community on a very practical and tangible project right near St John’s.
On 31 Octoctober 2015 we need a St John’s Team to undertake basic maintenance on Centennial Park, Cooks Hill (just down the road from our Church). Our city receives a real facelift with CityServe events across Newcastle but more importantly it provides an opportunity for us to meet people close to our church and share what our church community is about.
So… how can you help? We need about twelve volunteers to support the whole day. If we get enough we may be able to organize a ‘sausage sizzle’ for a break at lunch. When the work iss done and dusted and if the sun is out we may head to Bar Beach to wash off and celebrate a great day!
In early October we will have a meeting with all those who have registered their interest. To meet together and organize final details for the big day. This is such an exciting opportunity to be a relevant church – active in our local community. We hope you can be involved!
